Most leaks on the YS-D2 strobe come from the battery compartment o-ring.
This usually happens due to hair, sand or lint on the O-ring, where it compromises the seal and lets the water in.
It’s imperative to keep the O-ring perfectly clean and inspect it before each and every dive to make sure it’s clear of any foreign objects.
If you’ve already had a flood or partial flood in the battery compartment, the best thing to do is rinse it out immediately with fresh water (the battery compartment is sealed from the rest of the strobe). Then clean the contacts thoroughly with a Q-tip or toothbrush, maybe with some alcohol, buy a new cap and it should be working again.
You can get the replacement battery cap here: https://www.housingcamera.com/id3811-sea-and-sea-ss-kk-0730-asy-04.html
Do not dive with the same battery cap, since the seal has likely been compromised and may leak again.
