Yes! The Backscatter Macro Mate is the best macro lens you can get for a GoPro.
That being said, don’t expect results similar to the compact / mirrorless / DSLR system. The GoPro has a built in fisheye lens, so sticking a macro lens on a fisheye lens is never ideal. Edges will be blurry and soft, and only the center of the image will be sharp. This can be improved by changing the view angle of the GoPro to Medium instead of wide or super wide.
Focus takes some getting used to, but as long as you get the distance right, you should be fine. The macromate comes with a focus ruler to help you understand the right working distance from the subject.
