One of the best ways to learn photography is to see other photographers’ work. We try to find some of the best underwater photographers in the world, and showcase their work, along with the gear they use, to help other aspiring photographers improve, learn new skills and get inspired. This week we will feature the talented Cyril Delapraz!
Coming from South of France , the sea is always close to my heart.
My first diving experience was in Sipadan which remains one of my best memories.I got certified in 2001 in the cold water of England and that’s when l got my first underwater compact camera. Since then l spent a lot time traveling the world and visiting some of the most amazing places . I upgraded my photography equipment first to Sony mirrorless and later to a Canon DSLR.
The ocean offers such a great diversity making the choice of destinations so difficult and endless . Some of my favourite places to see the Pelagic are Cocos Island ,Galapagos, Fiji , South Africa and Mozambique. For macro photography l love travelling to Indonesia , Philippines and of course Papua New Guinea. Unusual but beautiful , Norway and Amazonia are to be seen underwater.
