Everyone wants a compact setup. Traveling with underwater photography gear is so difficult these days that every bit helps. Plus now that small cameras can do the job, you don’t want to have big lights weighing you down.
Fortunately, we have 2 very compact and advanced lights in the market so lets compare them.
The Inon S-220
This new model of Inon’s 10+ year compact strobe is something we’ve all been waited for. Its as small, nicely painted red. Comes with Inon’s super accurate TTL circuitry and has some great new features (like a super wide beam angle, more power, bigger buttons and double O-rings).
The Weefine WFS07
This is pretty much the first compact strobe/ video light combined into one light. Very impressive, high quality, one can even say revolutianary.

Why would one want to buy the S-220?

Ultimately, the decision to buy the Inon S-220 will depend on the individual’s specific needs and preferences. If someone values TTL support, double O-rings for added protection, and a more budget-friendly option, the Inon S-220 could be an excellent choice for their underwater photography needs. However, if they prioritize a faster recycle time, a video/focus light, and the convenience of using lithium-ion batteries, they might lean towards the Weefine WFS07 despite the higher price.
Why would one want to buy the WFS07?
There are several reasons why someone might want to buy the Weefine WFS07 for underwater photography:
- Video/Focus Light: The Weefine WFS07 comes with a video/focus light feature that provides 3000 Lumens of illumination. This can be extremely beneficial for shooting videos underwater or assisting with focusing in low-light conditions when using the camera’s autofocus.

It’s worth noting that the Weefine WFS07 does not support TTL and does not mention double O-rings for added protection like the Inon S-220. However, for photographers who prioritize the features mentioned above, the Weefine WFS07 could be an excellent choice for their underwater photography needs, even though it comes at a higher price compared to the Inon S-220.
