The YS-01 Solis Strobe
The YS-01 Solis is the new version of the popular Sea&Sea YS-01. This strobe is an excellent choice for both wide angle and macro shooters. It features a guide number of 20 with a circular beam angle of 100 degrees. It is also very travel-friendly due to its compact size.
Pros:
- Can be used in multiple modes: DS-TTL II, Manual and Slave TTL
- You can get 330 flashes at full power with NiMh batteries
- Target light is 40% stronger than its predecessor’s
Cons:
- Slightly pricier than the YS-03 Solis
The YS-03 Solis Strobe
The YS-03 Solis is the new version of the YS-03 strobe. Just like its predecessor, this strobe is fully automatic, which makes is perfect for photographers who prefer setting up their strobes on auto.
Pros:
- Very affordable.
- Easy to use, comes with one single switch, off/TTL
- Can offer the same light intensity and TTL accuracy as the YS-01
Cons:
- TTL only. No manual settings
