Ikelite Releases new Housing for Lumix TS7

Lumix TS7, FT7

The Panasonic Lumix TS7 compact camera is waterproof straight out of the box to 100ft, but not only that! It is also pressure resistant, shockproof and freezeproof.

The new housing released by Ikelite for this great camera enhances its depth rating up to 200ft.

As always, Ikelite is known for its ergonomic design that will give you full control of the camera’s buttons and features. Fiber optic ports are also available for your strobes, triggered by the built-in flash.

However, the housing for the Lumix TS7 doesn’t allow you to use any wet lenses. This means that you cannot expand your macro or wide angle capabilities and are limited to those built into the camera.

Easy to Use

You can control all the camera functions underwater and controls are very easy to operate, even you are wearing gloves. Since the housing has the standard controls on the side, it’s very convenient for handheld use. You can also add an optional Shutter Trigger Extension (IK-4077.93)

To prevent salt build-up, the push buttons are made of acetal and hard anodized aluminum. With this, it also reduces the weight and functions smoothly, with less maintenance required. The housing features laser engraved control symbols at the back to guide you which will never fade or fall off.

The mounting plate is 1/4-20 threaded mount on the bottom. This enables you to attach it to a tripod while on land, without removing the plate. The mount is front-loading for effortless installation and removal.

Flash

The built-in flash would not properly illuminate the photos underwater because of the position of the camera’s flash in relation to its lens. Adding a filter, strobe, or video light is recommended to get a high-quality image. You can definitely use the built-in flash to act as a trigger for your strobes via fiber optic sync cord.

Wet Lenses and Filters

The shape and position of the lens prevents you from using any wet lenses or filters on the housing.

Unique Design

It has a unique design which can prevent accidental stretching or twisting the o-ring. No need for an o-ring groove that is prone for trapping the sand, hair or dirt.

Vacuum Kit

It has a 1/2-20 threaded accessory port on the side of the housing for you to install the Ikelite Vacuum Kit (IK-47012). With this, you can check if there is any leakage inside. Although this is an optional accessory, it is always good to have one for extra security.

Durability

Ikelite housings are known for its white ABS-PC material which provides both strength and corrosion free performance.

Compatibility

This housing is compatible with Panasonic Lumix DC-TS7 and Panasonic Lumix DC-FT7 digital cameras ONLY.
