World Shoot-Out 2014 Winners Announced
The World ShootOut global underwater photo competition has taken place for the 4th time this year.
Hundreds of photographers from all over the world have taken part in the World ShootOut competition and thousands of images have been submitted, ranging from those that capture the calm lakes of the Nordic countries and Canada to others that showcase the exotic secrets hidden in Alaska and dramatic images of the great white shark in the Gulf of Mexico.
The competition has taken place during January 1st to July 31st, 2014, with divers and photographers all over the world, both amateurs and professionals have done their best to capture the best shots. The photographers have been competing with each other for some very worthy prizes, including cash prizes, luxurious diving trips, diving equipment, photo gear and more.
The competition is divided in to two main sections:
Real-time shootout – 6 different categories for still images including Dive Destinations, Wide Angle, Macro, Amateurs, Sharks and Best Wrecks of the World.
Video Clip of the World – Best underwater video clip.
Producer David Pilosof initiated the first World ShootOut competition in 2011, breaking all boundaries and introducing an international competition as never featured before.
2014 Winners
Wide Angle
- 1st prize – Complete INON strobe system, including 2 x Z-240 strobes, optical cables and connectors, courtesy of INON

- 1st prize – $1,500 USD check, courtesy of Unterwasser magazine
- 2nd prize – 10-day diving holiday for 1 person including dives at the Lissenung Island Resort, Papua New Guinea
- 3rd prize – 7-night holiday for 1 person at the Manta Ray Bay in Yap, including 5 diving days
Wrecks of the World
- 1st prize – $2,000 USD check, courtesy of the Cyprus Tourism Organization
- 2nd prize – 8-night full board diving holiday, including 7 diving days, in a beachfront bungalow for 1 person at Walindi Plantation Resort, Papua New Guinea
- 3rd prize – 7 days diving, 9 nights accommodation vacation in Zanzibar for 1 person, including FB accommodation and diving, courtesy of Swahili Divers
Sharks
