Nauticam NA-Z8 Underwater Housing for Nikon Z8

The NA-Z8 underwater housing is specially made for the Nikon Z8 camera. It uses the N120 Port System, which is compatible with Z-mount full-frame lenses. However, the housing is also designed to work with F-mount lenses by using the FTZ adapter. This means you can use the same port configuration as you would with a DSLR system like the NA-D6 or NA-D850.

The NA-Z8 housing has lens release buttons for both F and Z mounts. This makes it easy to change lenses, regardless of which lens platform you're using. You can quickly and effortlessly switch between different lenses without taking the camera out of the housing, except when you need to install or remove the FTZ adapter.

MISSION CONTROL
The Nauticam housings are designed to have controls placed conveniently close to the handles, making them easy to use. The engineers consider the most important functions and place the controls accordingly. The dials have finger grooves for a better grip, and the levers are designed for smooth operation. Near each handle, there are dedicated dual thumb-levers for specific functions like playback, display, recording, and autofocus. There is also a lever near the front left handle for user-assigned buttons. The right handle has a nested lever for adjusting ISO. To make image review easier, the zoom in and zoom out buttons are located on the right side near the handle.

ENHANCED VIEWFINDERS
The Z8 has a high-resolution 0.5" OLED viewfinder with 3690k dots. Nauticam offers Full Frame Enhanced Viewfinders that can be paired with the Z8's electronic viewfinder. These viewfinders provide a clear and unobstructed view, and they can be positioned straight or at an angle for comfort. The added distance between the housing and the viewfinder makes it more comfortable to use underwater. The viewfinders offer edge-to-edge visibility and have a dioptric adjustment for easier composition and sharp focus.

FLASH TRIGGERING
The NA-Z8 housing comes with a manual LED Flash Trigger pre-installed, and there is also an optional TTL LED Flash Trigger available. Both triggers are powered by coin-cell batteries and allow for fast triggering of compatible strobes using the built-in fiber optic bulkheads of the housing.

PREMIUM PROFESSIONAL OPTICS
Nauticam offers a range of high-quality lenses for capturing sharp and natural-looking images underwater, whether for super-macro or wide-angle photography. The WACP-1 Wide Angle Conversion Lens is designed to work with the Nikkor Z 28-75mm f/2.8 lens, providing a wide field-of-view. For those looking for a more compact system, the WACP-C can be used with the Sony SEL2870 28-70mm f3.5-5.6 OSS lens and the Megadap ETZ 21 adapter, offering zoom capabilities and a wide field-of-view.

For greater than 1:1 magnification and sharpness, the SMC-1 and SMC-2 lenses can be used with the Nikkor Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S Macro lens. These lenses can be easily mounted using the Nauticam flips system, allowing for quick deployment and accurate placement.

HDMI OUTPUT
The Nikon Z8 has a clean HDMI output, and the NA-Z8 housing features an M24 bulkhead that can accommodate an HDMI 2.0 connection. This allows for connecting a monitor/recorder like the Atomos Ninja5+ in the NA-Ninja5 housing. Mounting a housing for a monitor/recorder is possible using the threaded mounts at the top of the housing.

INTEGRATED VACUUM CHECK AND LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM
The NA-Z8 housing comes with the Nauticam vacuum check and leak detection system. This system, when used with an accessory vacuum valve, continuously monitors the housing's watertightness and indicates its diving safety. A color-coded LED system shows whether the vacuum is secure or if there is a leak. The system is temperature compensated, preventing false alarms caused by temperature changes or camera heating up during a dive.
