About Marco:

I was born in Naples on May 21st, 1968 and started to dive in the summer of the 1974, with my father Enrico and my mother Maria Rosaria, when I was only 6 years old. This year I celebrated my 40th anniversary from my first dive!

My father, who was also an underwater photographer, won the 1987 World CMAS Photosub Championship for Nations with the Italian Team.

I started to shoot photos underwater during 1979 with a Nikonos III and the filmstrip Ektachrome 64, then Ilfocrome 50 & 100 iso and finally Fuji Velvia.

I’m a hobbyist UW photographer, I enjoy winter night dive excursions very much, and I dive during the whole year, from spring to winter.

I have participated and won several Italian and international competitions, including 4 FIPSAS ITALIAN Fotosub & Foto Safari Championship, during 2010 – 2011 with a Nikon D7000.

Now I use a Nikon D800 in Isotta Isotecnic Housing, two Inon Z240 strobes triggered optically and also two analog Ikelite Substrobe S200’s, that I sometimes use for wide-angle shots.

For macro shots, I use Nikkor 105 mm Micro, Nikkor 60 mm Micro, sometimes combined with Subsee +5 or +10 additional lenses.

For wide-angle shots, I use Nikon 10.5 mm or Tokina 10-17 in a 4.5” dome, for the wide-angle close focus shots and for the wide-angle landscape photos I use the Sigma 15 mm with a 6” dome.

I’m a “Mediterranean” UW Photographer because I have no more time & money for trips and journey. I live in Sorrento (Naples) near the sea, just a few minutes from the saltwater ….

I dive in Sorrento, Massa Lubrense, Capri, Pozzuoli and Castellammare di Stabia.

Now i’m waiting my wife to come back from office and I’ll go diving!

Bye
Marco
