Using the Panasonic LX100 II Underwater
The LX100 II is an excellent camera for underwater photography, mainly due to its small size and excellent image quality. It features the body of a high-end compact camera, but with a gigantic Micro 4/3" sensor, the same one you would find in mirrorless cameras.
4 years after releasing the LX100, Panasonic releases a worthy successor with a few great upgrades!
The auto focus on the LX100 II is phenomenal. It will detect and lock focus in an instant, making sure you capture even fast moving subjects.
The 24-75mm lens can easily be fitted with wet lenses, to improve wide or macro capabilities. For best results, some brands such as Nauticam offer a short port to fit a wide angle lens and produce optimal field of view without any vignetting.
The LX100 II is an impressive video tool as well. Capable of shooting 4K video at 30fps with great color using either manual WB or the underwater WB preset. Though it is best to correct it a bit during post production.
