It fits into the hole on the right side of the back panel.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1295\" data-end=\"1313\">Its job is simple:<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1315\" data-end=\"1381\">It tells the strobe whether to expect a preflash from your camera.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1383\" data-end=\"1447\">\n<li data-start=\"1383\" data-end=\"1412\">\n<p data-start=\"1385\" data-end=\"1412\">Preflash \u2192 Magnet removed<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1413\" data-end=\"1447\">\n<p data-start=\"1415\" data-end=\"1447\">No preflash \u2192 Magnet installed<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1449\" data-end=\"1459\">That\u2019s it.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1461\" data-end=\"1495\">Nothing mystical. No hidden modes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1497\" data-end=\"1521\">Just preflash detection.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1479\" data-end=\"1482\" \/>\n<h2 data-start=\"1484\" data-end=\"1504\">What Is Preflash?<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1550\" data-end=\"1722\">Preflash is a very quick, low-power flash that fires before the main flash. Your camera uses it to measure exposure and calculate how much power the final flash should use.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1724\" data-end=\"1781\">It happens so fast that most people don\u2019t even notice it.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1783\" data-end=\"1793\"><strong>Important:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1795\" data-end=\"1841\">Preflash is NOT the same as red-eye reduction.<\/p>\n<p strobes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3278\" data-end=\"3394\">With a 140\u00b0 beam angle and Guide Number 22, the S-220 hits a very nice balance between compact size and real output.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3396\" data-end=\"3465\">For compact and mirrorless shooters, it\u2019s a strong all-around choice.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"3467\" data-end=\"3470\" \/>\n<h2
