2 years after the release of the D800\/E, Nikon have announced a new and improved successor for the D800 line – the D810.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The D810 is not meant as a\u00a0groundbreaking revolution in the Full-Frame dSLR field, but represents a more mature and evolved version of the D800\/E, maintaining the same high quality standards while implementing some more advanced features to the pro consumer’s delight.<\/p>\n

One of the major advancements in the D810 is the new 36.3MP FX CMOS sensor,\u00a0with no optical low-pass filter, designed for extreme sharpness, faster and more accurate AF and clearer images than previous sensors.<\/p>\n

Video<\/h3>\n

Filmmakers would be happy to learn that there has been some major upgrades in the video capabilities such as flat video profile, providing maximum quality and minimum on-camera processing, in order to better preserve quality in post production. The ability to display zebra stripes has been added to assist the user in getting the correct exposure. 2 microphones are mounted in the front for stereo audio recording. Auto ISO feature for video recording has been added while maintaining manual control over shutter and aperture, with smooth transitions between ISO. The D810 will be capable of producing\u00a0extremely sharp 60p full-HD (1920 x 1080) movies.<\/p>\n

Another cool feature that has been long waited by Nikon shooters is the ability to record small sized RAW images. The new sensor is capable of\u00a064-12,800 ISO (expandable to ISO 32-51,200 via Lo \/ Hi).<\/p>\n

This camera is going to be very popular with the pro and advanced\u00a0underwater photographers in the following year and we shall patiently await for housing manufacturers to announce their support for this wonderful camera.<\/strong><\/p>\n
