One of the best ways to learn photography is to see other photographers\u2019 work. Mozaik<\/a> looks for some of the best underwater photographers in the world, and showcases their work, along with the gear they use, to help other aspiring photographers improve, learn new skills and get inspired.<\/p>\n

This week we will feature the talented Matteo Visconti!<\/strong><\/p>\n

About Matteo<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Born and raised in Milan, the city of fashion and temptations.<\/p>\n

When he was child, every summer, he went to south Italy with his parents for holidays. Armed with mask and fins, he spent hours and hours swimming and discovering the amazing creatures of the deep in the cold Tyrrhenean sea, until his father thought to tie him to a sub buoy because he\u2019s used to swim very far away making her mom worried.<\/p>\n

His first camera has been a disposable film camera. Between 1990 and 2000 he lost himself becoming a DJ in Milan\u2019s night life between parties and clubs. After this black-out season he heard again the voice of the sea so he took his OWD in Red sea, Egypt in 2000.<\/p>\n

In 2006 he bought his first underwater camera, a Canon G7 in a Canon housing. He\u2019s fallen in love with macro world so in 2009 he updated his gear to a DSLR camera (Canon 500D with Canon lens 100mm macro) in a Sea & Sea housing.<\/p>\n

Two years later, he took a the big step at full frame with the iconic Canon 5D MK II.<\/p>\n

In the era of mirrorless he is still using DSLR camera because of the quality of the optical viewfinder (OVF) compared to the electronic viewfinder (EVF).<\/p>\n

With more than 800 dives all around the world, he is appreciating and enjoying underwater photography and underwater life especially muck world. Dive by dive he is improving his skills using snoot, playing with the lights and the strobes, changing point of view, subjects and background. He loves to take pictures of our beautiful creatures that inhabit our ocean and share it to promote their conservation.”<\/p>\n
