About Mitxel

This is Mitxel González. I was born and raised in Donostia-San Sebastián, a beautiful city on the shores of the Cantabrian Sea. Since I was little I fell in love with the mysteries and amazing creatures below the surface of the ocean, so I started diving in the open sea when I was just a teenager and in 2010 I got my first certification, then in 2017 I got my Divemaster certification.

During my life, I have traveled to more than 25 countries and have had the opportunity to go scuba diving and freediving in many dive destinations around the world. Sipadan Island, Lembeh Strait, Malapascua Island, Bunaken National Park, Komodo National Park or Nusa Penida are some of my favorite diving destinations.

He has logged several hundred dives as a divemaster, dive guide, and fun dives during my travels. I love photographing all kinds of underwater life, but I am especially drawn to smaller creatures and how they adapt and survive in different environmental conditions.

In my photos I try to capture the incredible colors of the different marine species and get creative compositions.

Mitxel‘s Gear

I use a Panasonic DMC-TZ35 + Panasonic 45m housing. and for the lighting I use a Weefine WF068 Smart Focus. I also use an Orcatorch D570 and color filters to get different lighting effects.
