Sony Releases the a6100 and a6600 Mirrorless Cameras
Sony is continuing to lead the mirrorless market and is very quickly upgrading their models. This time, the news is auto focus. Sony has improved their cameras and claim to have the fastest auto focus in the market. This is quite the new for underwater photographers which constantly struggle with auto focus speed and accuracy.
The a6600 is the successor of the a6500 aside from the AF improvement it is also claimed to have almost double the battery life and almost double the processing speed.
It is yet to be determined whether this camera will work inside the existing housings, we will update as soon as we have the info.
When announced, the housings can be seen here.
The a6100 is very similar to that and will replace the existing a6400. This is a more entry level camera but still will offer the same autofocus speed and accuracy and a similar sensor. This model has a lower resolution EVF, does not support eye tracking on movies and does not have built in stabilization but has to rely on the lens itself.
When considering the significant price difference, this model will surely be very popular. The housings will be available here.
