Panasonic LUMIX S Series – Full-frame Mirrorless Cameras
Panasonic is proud to announce their first ever full-frame mirrorless cameras – Lumix S Series!
The two models released – S1 and S1R feature a 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor and they are both based on the L-Mount standard.
The highlights of the new series is high-resolution image quality, advanced AF system with high precision, and high-speed focus. It uses the new Venus Engine that enables you to capture your subject in sharp focus without fail.
The video performance is 4K 60p/50p for both cameras and the body is designed for heavy-duty use, sturdiness, and expandability.
Lumix S1
This is perfect for professional videographers. There is no limit on the 4K 30p recording time, and when shooting 4k 60p, there is a 30 minutes limit.

Lumix S1R
This model is engineered to give you the highest level of resolution – 47.3MP. For the first time in a mirrorless camera, it features a High-Resolution mode wherein you can enable 187MP for ultra-high precision photo shooting. That’s massive!

Lenses
Panasonic also released 3 new lenses for the new mount type, perfect for both cameras. They worked together with Sigma and Leica to create the L-Mount in this new full-frame mirrorless camera series. Here are the first three lenses announced:
- Panasonic Lumix S PRO 50mm F1.4 (S-X50) – a large-aperture fixed focal length lens
- Panasonic Lumix S PRO 70-200mm F4 O.I.S. (S-R70200) – a telephoto zoom lens with a high-resolution even with the max zoom
- Panasonic Lumix S 24-105mm F4 MACRO O.I.S. (S-R24105) – a standard zoom lens that is capable of macro shots and wide-angle to medium telephoto shots
More lenses are coming soon! They are developing the rest of the 10 lenses or more by 2020 to expand the options available for the L-Mount.
