Featured Underwater Photographer – Ollie Clarke
One of the best ways to learn photography is to see other photographers’ work. We try to find some of the best underwater photographers in the world, and showcase their work, along with the gear they use, to help other aspiring photographers improve, learn new skills and get inspired. This week we will feature the talented Ollie Clarke!
About Ollie
My journey with underwater photography really began when I started out on an dive instructor internship in Muscat, Oman. I finally upgraded my old GoPro 3 to a Canon G16 with a fantasea housing and I quickly fell in love with underwater photography.
I began teaching myself underwater photography, gaining more experience and taking my camera out at any opportunity I could. Over time I started to get more and more gear and eventually whilst working as an instructor in Timor-Leste, I decided to upgrade to a full frame system – Sony A7Riii with Nauticam housing and Sea & Sea Strobes.
I felt whilst in such an pristine location with such abundant opportunities for photography it would be the perfect place to really learn how to use a big camera setup. Since then, for almost the last 2 years, underwater photography has been my full time job working with different dive centres to provide photography services and as a freelancer with some images in various publications.
