One of the best ways to learn photography is to see other photographers’ work. Mozaik looks for some of the best underwater photographers in the world, and showcase their work, along with the gear they use, to help other aspiring photographers improve, learn new skills and get inspired.

About Magali

I’m Magali Márquez, a PADI instructor from Puerto Rico specializing in underwater photography. My passion for underwater photography has been working and perfecting techniques for 8 years. I have specialized in macro photography with which I fall in love every day.

During my years as an underwater photographer I have had the opportunity to travel to countries such as Indonesia, the Philippines and the Caribbean to continue perfecting my techniques and continue discovering the beauties that the sea gives us. On my island Puerto Rico I have focused on Bonfire photography. For my dedication and effort my photos have been recognized in Italy, Bulgaria and Puerto Rico. Some of my photographs have been in exhibitions on my island Puerto Rico. I recently wrote a blog for Mozaik about Bonfire in Puerto Rico, I also had the opportunity to write a blog for Spain about Bonfire diving and mentioning different dive sites in Puerto Rico.

My photography gear currently consists of a Nikon D7200 camera, Nikkor 105mm macro lens, Nikon 60mm macro lense, Inon +5, subsee+10, Retra LSD snoot, Subal Housing, Retra Pro strobes and Kraken video lights.
