Featured Underwater Photographer – Grant Thomas

One of the best ways to learn photography is to see other photographers’ work. We try to find some of the best underwater photographers in the world, and showcase their work, along with the gear they use, to help other aspiring photographers improve, learn new skills and get inspired.

This week we will feature the talented Grant Thomas!

About Grant

Originally from Scotland, I have always had a fascination with the natural world and in particular the ocean. After finishing a degree in Engineering I took the opportunity to travel. This was the best decision I have ever made, as it was traveling that really developed my passion for photography. Soon after leaving Scotland I began working as a PADI Dive instructor and purchased my first underwater housing from Ikelite. Photography was no longer just a part of my life, it had become my life. I now work as a freelance photographer and expedition guide, leading a variety of tours and workshops to encounter and photograph animals such as humpback whales and orca.

Sales and Marketing at Mozaik Underwater Cameras

Ran is a professional photographer for over 14 years. His passion for scuba diving and photography has pushed him to combine his profession and hobby and become a professional underwater photographer. Teaching is one of his greatest passions and over the years he has shared his experience with many divers and aspiring photographers. Along with his wife Danielle, an experienced Scuba Instructor, they have founded Dive and More, leading dive trips and UW photo workshops all over the world. Ran is also an electrical engineer and an avid internet marketing specialist.
