So let's start with cameras, if you're getting a new system in 2023/2024 I would consider either a compact like the OM System TG-7 or Canon G7X III. If not these two, probably go for mirrorless. Canon offers the best lineup with one unique exception from OM System:
- OM System EM10 IV - Incredible value micro 4/3rds - housing+camera+lens is now $1,398
- Canon R100 - Absolutely insane value for money, housing+camera+lens is now $1,650.
- Canon R10 - Affordable but the newest sensor and AF technology - housing+camera+lens is now $2,395.
- Canon R8 - Least expensive full frame ever made - housing+camera+lens is now $3,199.
- Canon R7 - Best cropped sensor with IBIS - housing+camera+lens is now $3,299.
Popular high-end setups are the Canon R5 or Nikon Z8.
Lighting is more important than the housing and in many cases the camera:
