How does this light compare to other lights in the market?
The Kraken Hydra 3500S+ is an excellent light, packed with features and is the perfect choice for any underwater photographer. It has a very high end build quality and
easy to control thanks to the 2 buttons on top, compared to 1 button on many other lights. I’ve really enjoyed using mine so far and continue to use it as my personal light.
What’s your favorite feature on this light?
Definitely
the strobe feature. It’s awesome that you can use it a a strobe for still photos, producing a much stronger output so you can really freeze your subjects. This way you can use just one light for photos and videos, without necessarily having
to buy another light unit.
Would you recommend getting one or two of these lights?
It depends. Some divers shooting wide angle would benefit from having two lights, which have a wider coverage. Especially when using
a fisheye lens or a GoPro. Others would prefer a compact system that is easier to handle and travel with, so one light would be perfect for them. Especially because it has a very wide beam angle (110 deg).
