- Molded of clear polycarbonate to provide seamless construction and corrosion proof performance. This "Clearly Superior" design provides full view of the camcorder, control functions, and assurance the system is safe. Fail-safe mechanical controls are provided for important camera functions. Controls for the LCD screen touch pad provide full access to setting white balance and white balance shift.
- The camera's large viewing screen can be viewed using the External Mirror featured on the side of the housing. Included image reversing circuitry horizontally flips the image in the camera's LCD so that its reflection in the mirror appears correct left-to-right. Camera microphone is disabled when the circuitry is turned on. Circuitry may be turned on and off while underwater. The side-mounted External Mirror is hinged to fold against the housing for travel.
- A magnified Super-Eye Viewfinder is provided for enhanced viewing of the camera's optical viewfinder through a diving mask. The camera requires that the LCD monitor be closed to use the optical viewfinder. This is a limitation caused by the camera, not the housing.
- The included Stability Base removes instantly with a unique toggle clamp for traveling or to reduce overall system size. The handle assembly detaches from the housing by removal of just two nuts for packing.
- The included UR/Pro Color Filter provides color correction in tropical blue water with available sunlight up to 80 feet (24 meters). A Green Water Filter (Product Number 6441.81) is also available to achieve more natural tones in green water settings. Color correcting filters may be used with either automatic or manual white balance.

The housing port is threaded allowing the use of 67mm threaded macro lenses.
Due to the nature of the camera's native lens, 67mm threaded wide angle options are not compatible with this installation.
The optional Flat Port for Raynox HDS-680 (Product Number 9306.71) replaces the housing's standard flat lens port to allow the attachment of Raynox DCR-730, DCR-731, or HDS-680 wide angle lenses. These lenses attach to the front of the camera and are not removable underwater. The Flat Port option offers zoom and macro capabilities but reduces the overall conversion factor of the lens. If widest possible angle of coverage is desired, choose the optional Dome Port for Raynox HDS-680 instead.
The optional Dome Port for Raynox HDS-680 (Product Number 9306.70) provides increased angle of coverage and improved clarity, but limits zoom and macro range.
Use of a Raynox wide angle lens requires a 37-52mm adapter ring for attachment to this video camera. Lens and adapter ring are not available for purchase through Ikelite.
