Giant Tangled Manta Ray Asks for Diver’s Help

A group of divers, just off the coast of Costa Rica, were in the middle of dive in Bat Islands, when suddenly a gentle giant came from nowhere. The Manta Ray was tangled up in a fishing net and somehow knew that these divers might be able to help her out.

She approached one of the divers, Brian Thompson (Canada), and allowed him to cut the line and free her from the net. The divers also picked up the line, preventing it from hurting other marine life and saving it as a souvenir of this spectacular encounter.

The manta stayed with the divers for 30 minutes after being released, as if to thank them for freeing her from the net, before she disappeared back into the abyss.

Brian Thompson and his friends are going to remember this magical encounter for a long time…
