Canon G7X – Future star of Underwater Compacts?

canon g7x

First photos and specs of the Canon G7X have been leaked, and it seems that Sony RX100 series might have met its match.

The G7X is designed as a high-end compact camera, following the successful S100,S110 and S120 series which were all very popular for underwater photography and also combining the G1X and G1X MII.

It is quite clear that Canon have released the G7X in order to compete with the Sony RX100 MIII.

UPDATE (Dec 2014): Curious to see how it matches up to the RX100 III?
