The A7 will definitely produce higher quality photos, but you will have to compromise on size and portability while traveling. The housing will be much bigger than the RX100 housing and also pricier.
With mirrorless housings you will also have to get ports and zoom gears, which are sold separate, depending on the lens you choose to use.
The camera will also affect your choice of strobes, as the A7 will require a sync cord triggered strobe, and those are slightly pricier than the optically triggered strobes.
If you go with an Ikelite housing which is rather affordable, it’ll be about $2000 – $2500 for the housing + port + gear.
