The TG-6 is a great snorkeling camera. It has some amazing features, especially macro and slow motion video.
However, even though this camera is waterproof, it’s very easy to get some sand / hairs in the battery compartment or elsewhere which may flood the camera.
And, we’ve noticed that over time leaks in un-housed TG-series cameras become a bit more likely. So, we do indeed recommend a housing – for peace of mind and for additional upgrade-ability (add-ons like filters, lights, wet lenses, and more).
The housing adds another layer of security.
