About Raoul
The underwater photographer Raoul Caprez was born in Switzerland in 1972. He graduated from Geneva University in 1997 after having studied biology. So, his first photos were useful to identify species. Then, during the following years, he started to take pictures with a more artistic aim.
While exploring the underwater world, Raoul Caprez has taken photographs in the depths of almost every sea in the world. He also loves the freshwater ecosystems like the European lakes or rivers.
During his free time, he has been part of the jury of the Festisub contest,he used to be a member of the photo critic team for an online Underwater Photography Contest, and, as a photography instructor, he loves to teach underwater photography. He has been also asked to hold conferences about freshwater environment. So, slowly, photography has become more than a hobby.
Fascinated by the underwater wildlife he likes sharing his passion through his photographs (www.capraoul.ch).

I found Raoul has somehow captured the personality of his marine creature subjects. His pictures are inspiring and captivating. I found myself much more curious and wanting to know more about the animal he has snapped so thoughtfully and respectfully.
