Can I use my own digital camera for U/W photography?
YES
you can; provided that your camera is on the list of Housings
manufactured by Fantasea. For example Fantasea has housings for most
Nikon Coolpix cameras.
All you have to do in insert your camera into the housing.
What is the minimum equipment I need for U/W photography? How expensive is it?
The minimum equipment you need is housing for your camera. Housing prices start at about $120.
What is a cameras Housing? What is a flash housing?
Housings are transparent made of durable injection-molded polycarbonate that are leaked-free.

What is a strobe/nano flash?
Fantasea Strobes and Nano Flashes are help you take your photos under low light situations that occur often underwater, they are just like regular Camera flashes that are suitable for underwater photography. They can be synced with or without a fiber optics cable to any camera.
Why do I need a Red Filter?
Underwater, the low light and density of the water cause the colors to fade and photos will look "blueish" . The red filter will give Fish/Coral their true color in your photos.
Do I need a Wide-Angle Lens?
When diving, distance between divers and objects (Fish/Coral/Rock) is necessary since visibility can be pretty bad. The wide-angle lens will let you capture your whole scenery in 1 shot, you could take pictures of your partener and background in the same shot.
How do I use my camera’s features, e.g. focus, and zoom, when it is in the sealed housing?
The housings have buttons that control the camera’s features. E.g. a button for focus, a button for zoom, etc.
FLASH - My camera has a built-in flash. Can I use this flash for U/W photography?
Sure,
you can use your camera’s flash. However, for a better picture quality,
due to water & particles reflection; it is recommended to use a
flash mounted on a try above the camera. The flash is controlled by a
slave fiber optic cable. I.e. when you take a picture, your camera’s
flash ignites the flash mounted on the try.
